Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Vino Village, including our website, web app, and any current or future mobile applications and related services (collectively, the "App"). The App is operated by Uncommon Apps Pte Ltd ("Uncommon Apps," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility

To create an account, you must meet the legal drinking age in your country of residence (and, where that age is below the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must also be old enough to legally enter into these Terms). The App contains educational content about alcoholic beverages, references wine affiliate offers, and may in the future offer Vino Village-branded wine products for sale; it is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone below the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. By using the App you confirm you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Free access and Village Passport

  • Vino Village is free to use. Free accounts get a limited number of daily quiz attempts ("wine glasses"), which reset periodically. The specific number and reset frequency may change over time.

  • Village Passport is an optional paid subscription that removes daily limits and may unlock other features, as described in the App at the time of purchase.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

  • Payments are processed by third-party payment providers — currently Stripe, and, once mobile apps are available, the Apple App Store and/or Google Play. We do not store your full payment card details.

  • You can cancel anytime through your account settings or the relevant app store; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

  • We may change what's free vs. paid, or subscription pricing, with advance notice; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

4. Your content

You may upload content to the App, such as photos of bottles you've tasted, ratings, and tasting notes added to your Digital Cellar ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By uploading it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process (e.g., to help identify a bottle from a label photo), and display it back to you, solely to operate and improve the App. You're responsible for making sure your User Content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse the App to harm others; attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the App; upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content; or use the App to promote irresponsible alcohol consumption. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its characters, illustrations, stories, and quizzes, is owned by Uncommon Apps Pte Ltd and protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws. Our name, logo, and other branding are trademarks (registered or unregistered) of Uncommon Apps Pte Ltd. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own learning purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission.

7. Third-party services

The App may rely on third-party services (such as payment processors or analytics providers) that have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible or liable for the content, accuracy, or practices of these third parties, and your use of their services is subject to their own terms and policies.

8. Affiliate links and product recommendations

The App may include links to wine retailers, marketplaces, or other third parties through affiliate or referral arrangements. If you make a purchase after clicking one of these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These recommendations are not personalized professional advice, and we are not responsible for the products, pricing, availability, or practices of the retailers you purchase from — your purchase is governed by that retailer's own terms.

9. Vino Village wine products

We may in the future offer physical wine products under the Vino Village brand (such as a wine discovery box) for direct purchase through the App or a related storefront. Any such purchases will be subject to additional terms covering pricing, shipping, returns, and age verification at checkout and/or delivery, which we will publish before that offering launches and which will supplement these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" for educational and entertainment purposes. While our content is developed with reference to established wine education resources, it should not be treated as professional, medical, or safety advice regarding alcohol consumption, and we make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of App content.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Uncommon Apps Pte Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the App.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the App or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. If you're a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you additional mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived by contract, nothing in this section limits those rights.
