Absolutely not! Vino Village is designed for the wine curious, not the connoisseurs. If you've ever felt intimidated by wine, this is for you.
-
Yes, you need to create a free account to get started. Having an account allows us to save your progress, your Digital Cellar, and your Sommelier Score, so you can pick up right where you left off.

Travel across 6 tribes, meet characters like Princess Nora (Pinot Noir), listen to their stories, pass short quizzes, and unlock the next character. It's like a story-driven adventure game, but you're learning real wine knowledge.
Every time you pass a character's quiz, you also unlock that grape's Digital Cellar. This is like your personal wine collection. More on that below.
-
Every time you pass a character's quiz, you also unlock that grape's Digital Cellar. Snap a photo of a bottle you've tasted, and the app reads the label to pre-fill the wine's name and vintage (you can always edit it), then you add a rating and tasting notes. Over time this becomes your personal wine collection.

Free users get 3 Wine Glasses a day, your daily quiz attempts. Each failed quiz costs a Wine Glass, and they reset every 24 hours, so a relaxed pace gets you through all 23 characters in a few weeks.
Don't rush it, though. Taking review quizzes along the way is what makes the knowledge actually stick. Coming back regularly (even just for 5 minutes) also keeps your Sommelier Score up, since a long break without practice will gently fade it.
Want to review as often as you like without worrying about running low on Wine Glasses for new characters? Village Passport gives you unlimited Wine Glasses every day, so there's no tradeoff between practicing and progressing.
-
Your Sommelier Score (0–1000) tracks your overall progress and maps to 7 sommelier-themed levels, from Novice to Master Sommelier. It's based on how many characters you've completed, how well you score on quizzes, and how recently you've practiced with a review quiz. So staying active keeps your level up, and a long break will gently fade it.
-
Village Passport is a monthly or annual subscription that gives you unlimited Wine Glasses every day so there's no cap on how many quizzes or characters you tackle each day. Pricing is shown when you go to Subscription (under Settings) in the app.
By comparison, free users get 3 Wine Glasses a day, your daily quiz attempts.
