Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Uncommon Apps Pte Ltd ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Vino Village, including our website, web app, and any current or future mobile applications (collectively, the "App"). We're a Singapore-based company, and we handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws such as the GDPR.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and login details when you sign up.

  • Subscription and payment status: whether you have an active Village Passport subscription and its plan/renewal date. Actual payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers (currently Stripe, and, once mobile apps are available, Apple App Store or Google Play) — we don't store your full card number.

  • Digital Cellar data: photos of bottles you upload, ratings, and tasting notes you add to your personal Digital Cellar.

  • Learning and usage data: progress through tribes and characters, quiz results, daily quiz attempts ("wine glasses") used and remaining, and your Sommelier Score.

  • Device and technical data: browser/device type, app version, and diagnostic/crash data to keep the App running reliably.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and subscription.

  • To operate core features: characters and quizzes, your Digital Cellar, and your Sommelier Score.

  • To personalize content and track your learning progress.

  • To communicate with you about your account, billing, or product updates.

  • To maintain the security and reliability of the App, and to fix bugs.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Who we share information with

  • Payment processors (currently Stripe, and, once mobile apps are available, Apple and/or Google) to process subscriptions.

  • Service providers who help us host data, run analytics, or provide customer support, under confidentiality obligations.

  • Affiliate and retail partners, when you click a wine product link — typically limited to click/referral tracking data (e.g., via cookies or tracking parameters) rather than your account information.

  • Other users, only where a feature explicitly makes something visible to others and you've opted into it — nothing is shared with other users by default.

  • Authorities, if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Necessary cookies: required to run the site and fulfill actions you specifically request — for example, remembering your session, your cart, security, and attributing a referral when you click a wine product link to a retail partner (so the referral is properly credited). These don't share your account information with the partner and are always on, since they're needed to complete the action you took.

  • Performance and Analytics: we plan to use PostHog to understand how people use Vino Village (e.g. pages visited, features used) so we can improve the product. This is not yet active; once connected, it will only run if you accept Performance and Analytics cookies via the cookie banner.

  • Advertising: we don't currently use advertising or ad-targeting cookies. If this changes, we'll update this Policy and the cookie banner accordingly.

  • Email: if you subscribe to emails from us, our email provider may use tracking pixels/links to tell us whether an email was opened or clicked, so we can improve our communications.

You can control Performance and Analytics and Advertising cookies via the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site, and change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some features.

5. Digital Cellar photos and user content

Photos, ratings, and notes you add to your Digital Cellar are private by default. You can delete individual cellar entries at any time from within the App.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and cellar data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records (e.g., billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your rights and choices

  • Access, update, or correct your account information from Settings.

  • Delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Account, or by emailing us (below); we'll delete or anonymize your data as described in Section 6.

  • Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete specific data by emailing us (below).

  • Control data-sharing preferences from Settings → Privacy.

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. International data transfers

Because we operate from Singapore and may use service providers in other countries, your data may be processed outside your home country. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it's protected consistently with this Policy.

10. Age restrictions

Vino Village is intended only for individuals who have reached the legal drinking age in their country of residence, and is not directed at or intended for use by anyone younger. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone below that age. If we learn we've collected such data, we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes in the App or by email before they take effect.
