Meet the bottles

1. Gregory's pick: Gewurztraminer

Franz Haas Gewurztraminer 2024 bottle

Franz Haas Gewurztraminer 2024
Alto Adige, Italy

Gregory says: "Alsace is home, but I never say no to a trip to Alto Adige in the Italian Alps. Cool weather and mountains, my kind of place. Franz Haas makes this one in the village of Montan. Expect my signature lychee and rose petals, with orange peel and a little spice."

Pairs with: Spicy food, roast pork, or a mild, soft cheese

2. Rainart's pick: Riesling

Pikes Traditional Riesling 2024 bottle

Pikes Traditional Riesling 2024
Clare Valley, South Australia

Rainart says: "Australia is one of my regular trips, and the Clare Valley is where I like to stop. Pikes has been making Riesling here since 1984. I've been cutting back on sweets, so this one is dry: lemon, lime, white flowers and jasmine, with a zesty finish."

Pairs with: Roast chicken, prawn dumplings, or a soft goat's cheese

3. Victor's pick: Viognier blend

La Goutte du Seigneur Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2022 bottle

La Goutte du Seigneur Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2022
Rhône Valley, France

Victor says: "This one is from my homeland, the Rhône Valley. I like socializing, so I brought friends. The blend is one third Viognier, one third Grenache Blanc and one third Bourboulenc. Expect white flowers, ripe melon and white peach. The grapes are farmed organically."

Pairs with: Roast chicken, herbed goat's cheese, or grilled white fish
